25-Gurdjieff and the Fourth Way

It’s with a lot of diffidence that I even include this page on this site. Of all the topics, this is the one that probably has been the most extensively written about.

Gurdjieff is fascinating because to me he is an “outsider” philosopher: he had no “formal” training, created an outrageous language purposely designed to be impenetrable, his methods were equally outrageous, and when all was said and done, it’s arguable whether what he created really outlasted his own personality. But maybe in a perverse way, that’s OK too. What the hell, on the Internet no one knows you’re a dog, so I can blat out whatever opinions I may have about him.
