I’d been feeling lately that there wasn’t enough “weird” in my life and this movie was the perfect antidote….basically it’s a sort of elaborate student film put together by the avant garde band The Flaming Lips and a bunch of their family and friends.
It’s fun spotting the ad hoc set decorations in the “space station” — made of stuff from junk stores, empty plastic margarine tubs and various industrial detritus glued up all over the place. The collars on the space suits are made of car air filters, for instance… There’s a nice weird soundtrack.
If you’re a fan of the FL you probably have to have this for completeness. We civilians however…let’s just say it’s an interesting oddity.
