James Cameron’s kitchen sink saga. The story and scenario are highly cliche, but the visual imapct of this film is so stunning that you just forgive it all.
We were fortunate in that friends actually treated us to a 3-D Imax showing. I haven’t seen a 3-D movie for years and was hoping things had improved. It used the polarized lens system and really was amazing.
Just don’t come away expecting a Miyazaki-grade story or scenario. Cameron is real comfortable in his “Alien”/Titanic/Terminator sensibility. Since those are some of my favorite films, I guess I don’t have anything to complain about!
